Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Will pressure washing damage my screen enclosure or tear the mesh?
We never use high-pressure washing on screen enclosures - that would absolutely damage the delicate mesh. Instead, we use a soft wash technique with low pressure (under 500 PSI) combined with specialized cleaning solutions that do the heavy lifting. The cleaning solution breaks down algae, mold, and dirt on contact, so we only need gentle rinsing pressure to wash it away. We use wide-angle spray tips that further reduce impact force on the screens. Our technicians are trained to work methodically, section by section, ensuring thorough cleaning without putting stress on the screen material. In hundreds of screen enclosure cleanings, we've never damaged a screen using our soft wash method.
How often should I have my pool cage or lanai cleaned?
In Southwest Florida's humid climate, we recommend cleaning your screened enclosure every 12-18 months for optimal appearance and maintenance. Enclosures near lakes, canals, or heavily wooded areas may need cleaning more frequently (every 8-12 months) due to increased moisture and organic debris. Regular cleaning prevents algae from permanently staining screens and frames, and removes buildup that can trap moisture against aluminum, causing oxidation and corrosion over time. Many homeowners schedule their screen cleaning alongside roof or house washing for convenient, comprehensive exterior maintenance. We're happy to set up a maintenance reminder so your enclosure stays pristine year-round.
Can you remove the green and black staining from my aluminum frames?
Yes! Those green and black stains on aluminum frames are algae and mold growth that thrives in Florida's humid environment. Our cleaning solution is specifically formulated to kill and remove organic growth from aluminum surfaces. For most enclosures, frames come out looking bright white or silver again - like the day they were installed. In cases of severe, long-term buildup, some oxidation staining may remain, but there's always dramatic improvement. We also clean the frame tracks, bolts, and hardware that often get overlooked. If your frames have chalky white oxidation (different from organic staining), that's aluminum oxidation which our process improves but may not fully eliminate on older enclosures.
Do you clean the pool deck and surrounding areas at the same time?
We can absolutely clean your pool deck alongside your screen enclosure - many customers bundle these services for convenience and cost savings. However, these are separate services with different pricing. Screen enclosure cleaning focuses on the screens, frames, and structure itself. Pool deck cleaning uses higher-pressure washing appropriate for concrete, pavers, or travertine surfaces. When done together, we coordinate the work so runoff from screen cleaning doesn't re-soil freshly cleaned deck areas. We recommend scheduling both services on the same day for the most dramatic transformation of your entire outdoor living space. Just let us know when you request your quote that you'd like both services.
What about the roof panels on my screen enclosure - do you clean those too?
Yes, we clean all components of your screen enclosure including any solid roof panels, screen roof panels, and gutters attached to the structure. Solid roof panels (often found over lanai seating areas) tend to accumulate significant algae and debris and are included in our standard screen enclosure cleaning. We use the same gentle soft wash approach on roof panels to avoid damage. If your enclosure has screen roof panels, these are cleaned with extra care as overhead screens can be more delicate. We also clear any debris from gutters attached to the enclosure and check that downspouts are flowing properly. The goal is a completely refreshed enclosure from top to bottom.
